Teen Summer Crafts & Stuff at Rockridge Branch
Rockridge teens have a mellow Wednesday plan waiting on College Ave. On July 15, the Oakland Public Library Rockridge Branch is hosting a one hour craft session from 2 to 3 pm, with pom pom garlands on the table.
The Rockridge Branch has that familiar neighborhood library feel. It is calm, easy to get to, and close to the shops and snacks along College Avenue. For teens, it is a good place to meet up without making a whole production out of the afternoon.
This week, the makers are the main event. Library staff will help guide the activity, and everyone gets to work with color, texture, and a little patience. Pom pom garlands are simple, but they leave room for personal style, which is half the fun.
There are also snacks planned as part of the summer series. That helps. A craft afternoon feels better when there is something to munch on and a table full of people figuring things out together.
If your teen likes hands on projects, or just needs a reason to get out of the house for a bit, this is an easy pick. No big commitment. Just an hour at the library, a finished piece to take home, and maybe a new idea for the next Wednesday.
