Family Storytime at Oakland Public Library: Rockridge Branch
If your Saturday morning needs a gentle start, the Rockridge Branch Library has a sweet half hour planned on July 11 from 10:30 to 11:00 am.
This is the kind of neighborhood library gathering that feels easy to walk into. The Rockridge Branch sits right on College Avenue, with that calm library feel and a steady stream of families coming through the doors. Storytime usually happens upstairs in the meeting room, though on nice days it may move outside to the staff parking lot behind the library.
Library staff will lead the morning with books, songs, and simple group fun. Children of all ages are welcome, with the program mainly shaped for little ones ages 1 to 5. Babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and caregivers can all settle in together.
One nice part is what happens after the stories. Families are invited to hang around for a bit, chat with other parents and caregivers, and let the kids stay in the rhythm of the morning. For anyone new to the area, or just looking for a low key way to get out with young children, this is a good stop.

Children of all ages are welcome; content geared toward ages 1 to 5 years.We usually meet indoors in the Upstairs Meeting Room.Occasionally we meet outdoors, in the Staff Parking Lot behind the library – weather permitting! After storytime, we invite you to visit with other caregivers and parents in the storytime space.
