Veterans Job Search Help
June 18, 2026 11:00 am
## Practical job-search support for veterans at Oakland’s Main Library On Thursday, June 18, Oakland Public Library’s Main Library becomes a useful stop for veterans navigating the job hunt. From **11 a.m. to 1 p.m.**, **Robert McCockran**, a veterans’ representative with America’s Job Center / Employment Development Department in Oakland, will be available at the library’s **Community Kiosk** for one-on-one help. This isn’t a big lecture or a polished career fair. It sounds more like the kind of grounded, helpful drop
Robert McCockran is a veteransâ representative at Americaâs Job Center/Employment Development Department (EDD) in Oakland. He will be in the Community Kiosk once a month to help military veterans with job leads, tips, and referrals. He can also answer some unemployment insurance questions.
This is especially focused on veterans who have significant barriers to employmentâmen and women who are older, justice-involved, homeless, or recently discharged from military service.
Robert McCockran will be available at the Community Kiosk on the third Thursdays of the month.
