If your tabletop group has been sitting in one rules set for a while, this Tuesday evening is a good chance to try something else. Beyond D&D: roleplaying game night meets June 30, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Oakland Public Library, 125 14th St in downtown Oakland.
The Main Library has the right feel for this kind of night. It is calm, public, and easy to settle into. A table, some dice, a few strangers, and suddenly the quiet library mood turns into shared tension, strange choices, and a lot of story.
This session is led by an experienced DM, so beginners do not need to show up with a shelf of rulebooks. Materials are provided. Regular players will also have something to chew on, especially if they like systems that push story, risk, and character choices.
The current game is Heart: The City Beneath, a dark tabletop role playing game set in the strange world below Spire. Expect dungeon crawling, bad decisions, weird discoveries, and characters chasing something that may cost them more than they planned.

This event is suitable for beginners and seasoned players alike who are interested in collaborative storytelling and problem solving. Drop in is okay but space may be limited.
