Oakland has plenty of people building things that do not fit neatly into the usual startup story. This gathering at Local Economy is for Bay Area women leading nonprofits, social enterprises, consultancies, creative businesses, and other mission centered work.

It happens Thursday, November 5, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

The room should have a relaxed, practical feel. Local Economy is a fitting spot for this kind of evening, with a neighborhood energy that works well for real conversation. No big stage, no stiff panel vibe. The main draw is the mix of people in the room.

The evening is hosted by Katrien Johnson Zoons, founder of ImpactXChange. She will help shape the space, but the focus is on the women attending, what they are building, what feels hard right now, and what is keeping them going.

If you are leading a small team, trying to grow an idea, sorting through money questions, hiring questions, or the daily puzzle of keeping meaningful work moving, this is worth a look.
