Kitchen Stories 2: Sharing Home Recipes and Why They Matter to Us
November 7, 2026 5:30 pm
Kitchen Stories 2 brings recipes and memories to Local Economy
On Saturday, November 7, Local Economy in Oakland turns into a dinner table with a lot of stories attached. From 5:30 to 8:30 pm, people are invited to bring a dish and talk about where it came from, who taught them, or why it still matters.
This is the kind of event that fits the East Bay well. Low fuss, personal, and built around real conversation. Local Economy has the feel of a neighborhood gathering spot, which makes sense for an evening centered on food that people actually make at home.
Danny Scuderi hosts the night, but the main voices are the people in the room. One person might bring a recipe passed down through family. Someone else might show up with a dish they finally figured out last month. Both belong at the table.
Go if you like food with a backstory. Go if you are curious about what your neighbors cook when no one is watching. You may leave with a recipe, but you will probably also leave with a few names, a few memories, and a better sense of the cooks around you.

Event info: Kitchen Stories 2
Cooking is personal, communal, and filled with histories. Bring a dish and the story behind it—whether it’s rooted in deep family lore or a new kitchen success story. We’ll share food and talk about why these dishes matter to us. Everyone leaves with something new to make and a closer connection to the casual cooks around us. Hosted by member Danny Scuderi.
