A quiet parent circle in Oakland

Wednesday, October 28, Bedtime Club meets at Local Economy in Oakland from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

This one is for parents who did not carry the kids, but still carry plenty. Men, women, enbies, trans, cis, queer, straight, adoptive parents, and anyone who fits that space are welcome.

Local Economy has the right kind of Oakland feel for something like this. Small, grounded, and close to the street life of the neighborhood. It sounds like the kind of room where people can sit down, take a breath, and talk without having to perform.

The evening is led by Shea Waldron, with the focus on real conversation. No big stage energy. Just a small group making room for the parts of parenting that can be hard to name.

If you have been looking for a place to talk about the quiet weight of caregiving, identity, partnership, or being the parent who did not gestate, this may be worth your Wednesday night.

A gathering for non-gestational parents of all kinds—men, women, enbies, trans, cis, queer, straight, adoptive—to slow down together and sit with the stuff that doesn’t always get airtime. We didn’t carry the kids, but we’re carrying other things.
This is a small, intentional space. Come ready to go a little deep. Led by member Shea Waldron.
