## Paint the Island Light: Plein Air Workshop at Frank Bette Center Alameda’s Frank Bette Center for the Arts has the right kind of energy for a summer art workshop — homey, creative, and just a little tucked away from the rush. Set in a neighborhood spot on Paru Street, it’s the kind of place where people actually talk about brushwork, composition, and what the light is doing on a building across the street. On Friday and Saturday, July 17–18, artist Cleo Vilett leads **Simplifying for Impact: 2-Day Plein Air Workshop**, a hands-on class for adults who want to sharpen their outdoor painting skills without getting lost in every window, tree branch, and passing detail. Description: Cleo will be working in oil, though she is well versed in watercolor, gouache and acrylic. Our focus will be in simplifying our scenes, leaving out clutter that detracts from your focus, and designing powerful compositions. We will meet at Frank Bette Center on the first day with the painting location TBD.
Fee: $250 Members; $300 Non-members
