Art in the middle of a summer day in Alameda
Frank Bette Center For the Arts has the kind of feel that makes a gallery visit easy. It is calm, close to the neighborhood, and built for slowing down with the work on the walls.
Starting Friday, July 3, the center opens A Common Thread, a new show featuring Cleo Vilett. The theme is beauty in daily life, which feels right for this Alameda arts space. Expect work that asks you to look closer at familiar moments, small details, and the quiet stuff that usually passes by.
The exhibit runs from 11 am to 5 pm on opening day, and continues through July 31. There is also a reception on Saturday, July 11, from 3 to 5 pm, which is a good time to meet the artist, talk with other art folks, and spend a little more time with the show.
This is a nice stop if you want something thoughtful to do before dinner, after a walk, or while wandering Alameda. No big production needed. Just art, a welcoming room, and a chance to notice daily life in a different way.
