The Stylistics at Yoshi’s Oakland
Oakland gets a night of classic soul on Tuesday, August 18, when The Stylistics come to Yoshi’s for an 8 pm show.
If you grew up with Philly soul on the radio, or picked it up later through parents, records, and slow jam playlists, this one has a familiar glow. The group is known for songs like You Are Everything, Betcha by Golly, Wow, and You Make Me Feel Brand New. These are songs built for a room where people actually listen.
Yoshi’s is a good fit for that. The Oakland room has a close, seated feel, with dinner nearby, clear sound, and that Jack London Square night out energy without too much fuss. You can settle in, order something, and let the harmonies do the work.
The show runs from 8 pm to 10 pm at Yoshi’s, 510 Embarcadero West in Oakland. For East Bay soul fans, this is a nice midweek reason to head toward the waterfront.
