SOUTH SEAS SWING
August 15, 2026 7:00 pm
South Seas Swing at the USS Hornet
Alameda has a good one on the calendar for Saturday, August 15, 2026. From 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum turns into a swing night with a little island flavor.
The setting is half the fun. The Hornet is already one of the most interesting places in the East Bay, with its huge hangar spaces, naval history, and views out near the water. Add live music, dancing, food, and drinks, and it becomes the kind of night that feels very Alameda in the best way.
Death and Taxes Swing Band will be playing, so expect a real swing dance feel rather than background music. If you know the steps, you will have room to move. If you are rusty, this is still an easy night to enjoy. Watch the dancers, grab a drink, and take in the scene.
Members get in free, and general admission is available with an entry voucher. Registration is requested, so it is worth taking care of that before heading over.
