Volunteer Day & Open House

A hands on Wednesday at REAP Climate Center in Alameda

If you have been meaning to spend an afternoon outside, meet a few neighbors, and do something useful with your hands, REAP Climate Center has a good one on the calendar for Wednesday, November 11.

The Alameda space at 2133 Tynan Ave has a grounded, community garden feel. Think soil, tools, plants, compost, animals, and people figuring things out together. From 2 pm to 5 pm, volunteers may help with watering, planting, compost building, animal care, light building projects, or heavier work, depending on what the site needs that week.

There are no stage performers here. The action is the people who show up, lend a hand, and learn as they go. That is part of the charm. You can come with experience, or you can come curious.

After the work wraps, the gathering usually shifts into a Fireside Potluck, which sounds like a nice way to land after a few hours on campus. Bring a friendly attitude, clothes that can get dirty, and check the volunteer info before you arrive.

Good for East Bay folks who like practical climate work, local community, and an afternoon that feels more useful than scrolling.

Come volunteer at REAP Climate Center! Come by, lend a hand, and join our community of passionate doers. We usually work until 5pm and then transition to our Fireside Potluck!

Before arriving, please read through our volunteer page and FAQ http://reapcenter.org/volunteering , and sign our online waiver. All volunteering participants of all ages are required to sign the waiver before coming to campus.

We do our best to update this volunteer page one week before the event to describe what tasks we have planned. Some possibilities include: watering, planting, compost building, animal maintenance, light construction or fabrication, and heavy construction.
