Volunteer Day & Open House

REAP Climate Center is opening its campus on Wednesday, October 28, from 2 pm to 6 pm for an afternoon of hands on community work and a casual open house.
The space at 2133 Tynan Ave has a practical, neighborly feel. Think garden beds, compost, tools, animals, projects in progress, and people learning as they go. Tasks change week to week, but you might help with watering, planting, compost building, animal care, fabrication, or construction work.
There is no stage lineup for this one. The “performers” are the volunteers, builders, gardeners, and climate minded locals who keep the place moving. If you like doing something useful with your hands, this is a good way to spend a Wednesday afternoon.
Volunteering usually runs until 5 pm, then the group shifts into a Fireside Potluck. That part sounds like the best kind of Alameda evening: tired hands, shared food, and a little time to talk with people you just worked beside.
Before you go, REAP asks everyone to read the volunteer info and FAQ, and sign the online waiver. All ages need a waiver before coming to campus.

Come volunteer at REAP Climate Center! Come by, lend a hand, and join our community of passionate doers. We usually work until 5pm and then transition to our Fireside Potluck!
Before arriving, please read through our volunteer page and FAQ http://reapcenter.org/volunteering , and sign our online waiver. All volunteering participants of all ages are required to sign the waiver before coming to campus.
We do our best to update this volunteer page one week before the event to describe what tasks we have planned. Some possibilities include: watering, planting, compost building, animal maintenance, light construction or fabrication, and heavy construction.
