Volunteer Day & Open House
October 25, 2026 5:00 pm
Sunday at REAP Climate Center in Alameda
REAP Climate Center is opening its campus on Sunday, October 25, for a full day of volunteering, learning, and getting your hands in the soil.
The day starts at 10 am with a new volunteer orientation, followed by morning and afternoon work sessions. Tasks can vary, but expect things like watering, planting, compost building, animal care, light building projects, or bigger hands on work around the campus.
The atmosphere here is practical and neighborly. Think outdoor work clothes, shared tools, curious questions, and people showing each other how things get done. Bring lunch if you plan to stay through the middle of the day, since there is a BYO lunch hang from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
There are no listed performers for this one. The people to watch are the REAP crew, returning volunteers, gardeners, builders, and first timers who show up ready to help. That is the rhythm of the day.
This is a good fit if you have been wanting to meet people in Alameda who care about climate, food systems, repair, and regenerative practices. You do not need to be an expert. Kids, adults, experienced folks, and total beginners are all welcome.
Schedule:
10:00 am New Volunteer Orientation
10:30 am to 12:30 pm Volunteer Session 1
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm BYO Lunch and Hang
1:30 pm to 3:30 pm Volunteer Session 2
3:30 pm to sunset Wind Down and Clean Up
