Volunteer Day & Open House
September 13, 2026 5:00 pm
Sunday in Alameda, REAP Climate Center opens the gates for a hands on volunteer day
REAP Climate Center has the kind of East Bay campus where you can show up in work clothes, meet a few neighbors, and leave with dirt on your shoes. The day starts at 10 am with a new volunteer orientation, then moves into morning and afternoon work sessions.
Expect the scene to be practical and friendly. Depending on what the campus needs that week, volunteers may help with watering, planting, compost, animal care, light building projects, or bigger construction tasks. The “performers” here are the people doing the work together, plus the land itself.
There is a BYO lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, which makes it easy to hang out, ask questions, and get a feel for the community. After the second session, folks wind down and clean up as the day heads toward sunset.
This is a good fit if you are curious about regenerative practices, want to learn by doing, or just need a grounded Sunday in Alameda. All ages and experience levels are welcome, but every volunteer needs to sign the waiver before arriving.
