Volunteer Day & Open House

Volunteer Day & Open House at REAP Climate Center
REAP Climate Center in Alameda opens its campus Sunday, September 6, for a full day of hands on volunteer work, learning, lunch, and a slow wind down before sunset.
The place has a working campus feel. Think garden beds, compost, tools, people in sun hats, and conversations that start while someone is watering or hauling materials. It is relaxed, but there is real work happening.
The people you meet are part of the draw. New volunteers, regular REAP folks, and staff will be around to guide tasks like planting, watering, compost building, animal care, light fabrication, or construction projects, depending on what the site needs that week.
The schedule starts at 10 am with orientation for new volunteers. The first work session runs from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a bring your own lunch hang from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. A second session runs from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, then cleanup and wind down continue into the late afternoon.
This is a good pick if you want to meet Alameda neighbors, learn practical climate skills, or spend a Sunday doing something useful outside. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
Before you go, REAP asks everyone to read the volunteer info and sign the waiver online. The campus is at 2133 Tynan Ave in Alameda.
