Volunteer Day & Open House

Volunteer Day and Open House at REAP Climate Center
REAP Climate Center in Alameda is opening the gates on Wednesday, September 2, from 2 pm to 6 pm for an afternoon of hands on volunteer work, learning, and neighborly hang time.
The space at REAP has a practical, backyard campus feel. Think garden beds, compost, tools, animals, and people moving around with a shared purpose. It is the kind of place where you might show up to water plants, help with planting, build compost, assist with animal care, or pitch in on light construction.
No band or headliner is listed for this one. The people guiding the day are the REAP crew and regular volunteers, the gardeners, builders, caretakers, and climate minded neighbors who keep the place running. That is part of the appeal. You get to learn by doing, ask questions, and leave with dirt on your hands.
Volunteer work usually runs until 5 pm, then the group shifts into a Fireside Potluck. If you like community projects, local climate work, or just want a useful way to spend a Wednesday afternoon in Alameda, this is a good one to put on the calendar.
Before you go, REAP asks everyone to read the volunteer info and FAQ, and to sign the online waiver. All ages need a waiver before coming onto campus.
