Volunteer Day & Open House

Wednesday volunteer time at REAP Climate Center in Alameda
If you have been meaning to get your hands dirty in a useful way, REAP Climate Center has its regular Wednesday volunteer afternoon on August 19 from 2 pm to 5 pm, with a Fireside Potluck after the work wraps up.
The space at REAP Climate Center has that Alameda backyard lab feeling: plants, tools, neighbors, learning, and a lot of practical climate work happening in plain sight. It is at 2133 Tynan Ave, tucked into the kind of local spot where you can show up, help for a few hours, and leave knowing a little more than when you arrived.
No performer lineup is listed for this one. The people carrying the afternoon are the REAP hosts and the volunteer crew. Tasks can change from week to week, but possible work includes watering, planting, compost building, animal care, light construction, fabrication, and bigger build projects when needed.
This is a good fit if you like being outside, meeting hands on neighbors, or learning how climate focused community spaces actually run. You do not need to arrive as an expert. Just come ready to listen, pitch in, and follow the day’s plan.
Before heading over, REAP asks all volunteers of all ages to read the volunteer info and FAQ, and to sign the online waiver. You can find those details at reapcenter.org/volunteering and the waiver at reapcenter.org/waiver.
