Wednesday evening in Alameda: food, fire, and climate minded neighbors
If your midweek plans could use something warm and grounded, REAP Climate Center has a good one on the calendar. Their weekly fireside potluck runs Wednesday, December 2, from 5:00 to 8:30 pm at REAP Climate Center, 2133 Tynan Ave in Alameda.
The setup is simple. People arrive after 5, help cook if they want, hang out while food comes together, then share a meal around the fire. Some food is provided, but bringing a dish or drink to share is encouraged if you can swing it.
REAP’s campus has that tucked away Alameda feel, with outdoor space, community projects, and a relaxed pace that makes it easy to talk with people you have not met yet. It is a nice setting for anyone curious about regenerative practices, climate work, local food, or just getting out of the house for a low key evening with neighbors.
The programming changes from week to week. You might catch live music from local players, a movie, a workshop, or a guided conversation. The event also welcomes ideas, so if you know a band, want to lead a workshop, or have a topic people should gather around, REAP is open to hearing about it.
All ages are welcome, with kids accompanied by an adult. Before visiting, REAP asks guests to fill out their waiver. You can also RSVP and find more details through the event page.

Wednesday Schedule
Come anytime after 5:00pm! We generally cook until 6ish, and we welcome helping hands, or just friendly company! We’ll then enjoy a communal meal and fireside gathering, usually wrapping up around 8:30.
