Fireside Potluck!

Wednesday evening at REAP Climate Center in Alameda has a nice neighborhood rhythm to it. From 5 to 8:30 pm, the campus at 2133 Tynan Ave turns into a shared table, with cooking, food, and conversation around climate, community, and daily life in the East Bay.
The night starts with a community cook from 5 to 6 pm, then moves into a potluck hang from 6 to 7 pm. Some food will be there, but if you can bring a dish or drink to share, that is the spirit of the thing.
After dinner, the programming changes week to week. It might be live music, a movie, a workshop, or a group discussion. The performers and presenters tend to fit the space: local, curious, and tied into the kind of community work REAP is trying to grow.
The venue itself is a big part of the draw. REAP has that Alameda campus feel where you can slow down a little, look around, and talk to people without the usual event pressure. It is welcoming for all ages, with kids accompanied by an adult.
If you are interested in climate work but do not want another formal meeting, this is a good middle ground. You can chop vegetables, share a plate, hear some music, watch a film, or just sit by the fire and meet neighbors.
