Vau de Vire lands at Alameda Point with supper, circus, and Joan Baez

Alameda Point is getting a big top night out this season. Vau de Vire Society is setting up under the Tortona Big Top at Radium Runway, bringing its mix of circus, cabaret, dinner, and live performance to the old waterfront side of town.

The setting is a big part of the draw. Radium Runway sits out at 2151 Ferry Point, where Alameda has that wide open, slightly strange, after sunset feel. You get the big sky, the bay air, and the sense that you are headed somewhere a little outside the usual night out.

This run features Vau de Vire’s performers, known for aerial acts, music, movement, and theatrical oddities that tend to feel more like a night market dream than a seated show. And yes, Joan Baez is part of the bill, which gives the whole thing a rare local twist. Seeing her name in this setting is enough to make people pause.

Shows begin Friday, August 7, 2026, with performances scheduled through October 10. The listed show time is 8 pm to 10 pm, which makes it easy to turn into a full evening. Come for supper, stay for the circus, and leave with Alameda Point feeling a little less familiar than when you arrived.
