Toddler Storytime

Thursday morning stories in Rockridge
If your little one likes books, songs, and a room full of other wiggly kids, the Rockridge Branch Library has a sweet half hour planned on Thursday, September 17 at 10:30 am.
Toddler Storytime brings families together for reading and singing, with the morning geared toward ages one to three. Children of all ages are welcome, so younger siblings and older tagalongs can settle in too.
The setting is part of the charm. Oakland Public Library: Rockridge Branch sits right on College Ave, making it an easy stop for neighborhood families. Depending on the weather, the group may gather outside in the staff parking lot behind the library, or upstairs in the meeting room. Either way, it has that familiar library feel: calm, friendly, and easygoing.
The performers here are the story readers and library staff, which is exactly what toddlers need. Expect picture books, simple songs, and plenty of chances for kids to listen, wiggle, clap, or just watch from a caregiver’s lap.
After the stories wrap up at 11:00 am, families are invited inside to browse and check out books. That is a nice little bonus, especially if your kid finds a new favorite character or wants to carry home a stack twice their size.
When: Thursday, September 17, 2026, 10:30 am to 11:00 am
Where: Oakland Public Library: Rockridge Branch, 5366 College Ave, Oakland
It is free, simple, and very Oakland in the best way: neighbors, books, songs, and a good reason to get out of the house before lunch.
Toddler Story Time at Rockridge Branch Library, every Thursday at 10:30am
Children of all ages are welcome; content geared toward ages 1 to 3 years. Sometimes we meet outdoors in the Staff Parking Lot behind the library. Other times we meet indoors in the upstairs Meeting Room – it depends on the weather, the temperature, and on our story-reader’s preference for the day. After storytime, we invite you to come inside the library to check out library materials.
Welcome to all! We look forward to reading & singing with you!
