Toddler Storytime
July 23, 2026 10:30 am
Thursday morning storytime in Rockridge
If you have a toddler who is ready to wiggle, listen, sing, and maybe point at every picture in the book, the Rockridge Branch has a sweet little half hour planned on July 23.
The session starts at 10:30 am at Oakland Public Library: Rockridge Branch, 5366 College Ave in Oakland. It wraps up at 11:00 am, which is about the right length for the 1 to 3 crowd.
The setting is part of the charm. Some mornings the group gathers upstairs in the meeting room, where it feels cozy and easy to settle in. Other times, if the weather is kind, everyone heads behind the library to the staff parking lot for an open air version. Either way, expect a relaxed neighborhood feel, with caregivers, strollers, and small kids finding their rhythm.
The performers here are the library story readers, and they know the room. Expect picture books, songs, simple rhymes, and the kind of call and response moments that help toddlers feel included, even when they are halfway in motion.
Go because it gives the morning a shape. Your kid gets language, music, and a small crowd of other little ones. You get a low pressure outing on College Ave, plus a reason to browse the shelves after. Children of all ages are welcome, though the books and songs are aimed at ages 1 to 3.

Toddler Story Time at Rockridge Branch Library, every Thursday at 10:30am
Children of all ages are welcome; content geared toward ages 1 to 3 years. Sometimes we meet outdoors in the Staff Parking Lot behind the library. Other times we meet indoors in the upstairs Meeting Room – it depends on the weather, the temperature, and on our story-reader’s preference for the day. After storytime, we invite you to come inside the library to check out library materials.
Welcome to all! We look forward to reading & singing with you!
