A quiet Saturday read and chat in Rockridge
If your ideal weekend plan has more pages than noise, head to Oakland Public Library: Rockridge Branch on Saturday, August 8, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
This monthly book group meets on the second Saturday, right on College Ave, in one of those neighborhood library spaces that feels easy to settle into. Think shelves close by, local readers at the table, and a room where people can actually hear each other talk.
The main voices here are the readers themselves. People come in with notes, questions, favorite lines, and a few honest disagreements. That is the fun of it. You get to hear how the same book lands with someone who lives down the street.
The current selection can change, so it is worth calling the branch at 510 597 5017 before you go. The library can also help with accessibility details.
