Needlework, tea, and a quiet Rockridge afternoon

Thursday, September 17, the Rockridge Branch of the Oakland Public Library is setting aside a couple of easy afternoon hours for people who like yarn, thread, fabric, and good conversation.

This gathering runs from 1 to 3 pm at Oakland Public Library: Rockridge Branch, at 5366 College Ave. Bring whatever you are working on, whether that is knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, mending, or the project you keep meaning to finish.

The room has that calm library feel, with a neighborhood pace that fits this kind of meetup. No stage, no big program. The performers here are the makers at the table, swapping tips, counting stitches, and talking through the afternoon.

This group has been meeting for nearly two years, so there is already a nice rhythm to it. New people are still welcome, including beginners. Hot tea is part of the setup, which feels right for a Thursday in Rockridge.

If you want a low key way to meet other fiber art folks, or you just need a reason to sit down and make progress on something with your hands, this is a good one to keep on your calendar.

Join us every Thursday afternoon for creativity and conversation in a warm and inviting space.
You are invited to bring your own projects (knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting and more!) and enjoy the good company of other fiber art creatives. This group has been meeting now for nearly two years and whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting, everyone is welcome! Hot tea is provided.
