Adult Needlework Circle at Oakland Public Library: Rockridge Branch

Thursday afternoon in Rockridge has a nice little rhythm to it, and this gathering fits right in. From 1:00 to 3:00 pm, the Rockridge Branch on College Ave opens up a warm, quiet space for people working on knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, and other fiber projects.

There are no stage performers here. The performers are the hands at the table, the half finished scarves, the bright thread, the careful stitches, and the friendly talk that comes with sitting near other makers.

This group has been meeting for nearly two years, so it has that easy community feel. You can bring a project you have been meaning to finish, ask a question, or just sit and work while other people do the same. Beginners are welcome, and so are people who have been doing this for decades.

The Rockridge Branch is a calm spot for this kind of afternoon. It is close to neighborhood shops, easy to find at 5366 College Ave, and comfortable enough to settle in for a while. Hot tea is provided, which feels just right for a needlework table.

If your week could use a quiet creative pause, this is a good one to put on the calendar.

Join us every Thursday afternoon for creativity and conversation in a warm and inviting space.
You are invited to bring your own projects (knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting and more!) and enjoy the good company of other fiber art creatives. This group has been meeting now for nearly two years and whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting, everyone is welcome! Hot tea is provided.
