Teen Magic the Gathering (MtG) Club @Main TeenZone

Sunday afternoon at the Main TeenZone is a good fit for teens who like strategy, story, and a little table talk. Oakland Public Library has that steady downtown library feel, with room to focus, meet people, and settle into a game without a lot of noise around you.

This gathering is built around Magic the Gathering Commander, a format where each player brings a deck with a leader card and the game can take some fun turns. New players are welcome, and experienced players should find others ready to play.

There are no stage performers here. The action is at the tables, where the players make the big moves, trade ideas, and build the story as the game goes on.

All teens ages 12 to 18 can come by. Materials are provided, so you do not need to bring cards to join in. Snacks are included too, which never hurts during a longer game.

If you have a teen who already plays, this is an easy way to meet other local players. If they are curious but new, it sounds like a low pressure place to learn.
