Teen Magic the Gathering at Oakland Public Library

Sunday, August 23, the Main TeenZone at Oakland Public Library is making room for teens who like strategy, story, and a good table full of cards. The club runs from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at 125 14th St in downtown Oakland.

This is a casual Commander session for Magic: The Gathering, open to teens ages 12 to 18. New players can sit down without worrying about bringing a deck or knowing every rule. Experienced players will have a place to test ideas, talk through plays, and meet other local teens who are into the same game.

The TeenZone has that easy library feel: quiet enough to think, but social enough to make a game feel alive. The players are the performers here, building up stories turn by turn with creatures, spells, alliances, and the occasional surprise move across the table.

All materials are provided, including snacks, which makes this a simple afternoon plan for East Bay teens who want something fun, social, and indoors. More details are listed on the event page.
