Magic, strategy, and snacks at Oakland Public Library
Teens who like card games, story worlds, and clever table talk have a good reason to head to the Main TeenZone at Oakland Public Library on Sunday, August 9.
From 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, the library is hosting a Magic the Gathering Commander meetup for ages 12 to 18. New players can learn the ropes, and experienced players can sit down for a few rounds with other local teens.
The TeenZone has that easy library feel, calm enough to focus, but social enough to make a new friend across the table. The main performers here are the players themselves, building decks, making choices, and reacting when a plan goes sideways.
All materials are provided, including snacks, so nobody needs to show up with a full deck or a pile of gear. Just bring curiosity, patience, and maybe a favorite strategy if you already play.
