Teen games take over the Main TeenZone in downtown Oakland
On Saturday, August 22, the Main TeenZone at Oakland Public Library opens up for four hours of tabletop games, video games, snacks, and teen friendly competition. It runs from 12:00 to 4:00 pm at 125 14th St, right in the heart of downtown.
The TeenZone has that relaxed library feel, with enough room to settle in, meet people, and try a few rounds without feeling rushed. Some teens will be there for strategy. Some will be there for fast matches. Some will probably just come for snacks and end up staying.
The performers here are the players. The table talk, the quick wins, the close games, and the small rivalries are the whole point. Library staff will be around to keep things moving and help make the space welcoming.
This is a good pick for teens who want something social to do on a Saturday without spending money. Bring a friend, or show up solo and join a game.
