Roll for initiative at Oakland Public Library
Downtown Oakland teens have a good Monday hangout waiting at the Oakland Public Library Main TeenZone. On August 24, DungeonMaster Vic is running a Dungeons & Dragons session from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, with room for teens ages 12 to 18.
The TeenZone is a comfortable library space, so the mood is more relaxed table talk than loud event hall. You can show up new to the game and still get pulled into the story. Dice, character materials, and snacks are provided, which makes it easy for first time players to sit down and start.
Vic leads the adventure, but the fun comes from the group. Teens get to make choices, solve problems, joke around, and build a story together. If your teen likes fantasy books, video games, improv, or just hanging out with creative people, this is a solid after school pick.
Space fills up fast, so call the TeenZone before heading over to check availability. The library is at 125 14th St in Oakland.
