Dice, snacks, and story time at the Main TeenZone
On Monday, July 20, the Main TeenZone at Oakland Public Library turns into a table full of maps, dice, snacks, and big choices. DungeonMaster Vic is leading a two hour Dungeons and Dragons club from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, made for teens ages 12 to 18.
The TeenZone has the right feel for this kind of hangout. It is relaxed, social, and set inside the downtown library at 125 14th St, close to BART, buses, and the lake side of downtown. New players are welcome, and all materials are provided.
Vic is the guide here, but the teens help make the action. Expect quick plans, strange creatures, funny mistakes, and a little teamwork when the dice refuse to help. It is a good Monday stop for teens who like fantasy, storytelling, acting, drawing characters, or just spending time with other people who enjoy a shared adventure.
It is free, and snacks are included. Space fills quickly, so call the TeenZone before heading over to check availability. For access questions, check with the library when you call.
