Library Commission Meeting at Oakland Public Library
Monday evening at the Main Library, Oakland neighbors can sit in on the kind of civic meeting that shapes what happens inside our public library system.
The setting is familiar if you spend time downtown: the Oakland Public Library at 125 14th St, close to Lake Merritt and City Hall, with that steady public building feel. Quiet enough to listen, busy enough to remind you that the library belongs to a lot of people.
The people at the center of the room will be the Library Commissioners, library staff, and community members who come to speak during open forum. The agenda includes draft minutes from May, an action plan, and commissioner assignments.
If you care about library hours, services, public access, collections, youth programs, or how Oakland’s libraries are guided, this is a useful one to attend. Public comment is in person only, and comments are taken during open forum at the beginning of the meeting.
You can also observe online through Zoom if you just want to listen in, but the online option is view and listen only.
