Family support resources at Oakland Public Library
On Monday, September 14, Oakland Public Library opens its doors for a calm, useful morning with Family Paths, an Oakland organization that has been serving local families for 50 years.
This gathering runs from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the Main Library on 14th Street, right in the civic center area. It is the kind of place where you can stop in, ask questions, and get pointed toward help without a lot of fuss.
Family Paths staff will be there to talk in person about therapy and support for parents, caregivers, couples, adults, and children. Their work often centers on stress, family relationships, communication, parenting challenges, and healing from past trauma.
The library setting matters here. It is familiar, public, and low pressure. You can come in for information, have a conversation, and leave with a clearer idea of what resources may fit your family or someone you care about.
They can also explain payment options, including sliding scale fees and some coverage paths through local programs. If you have been meaning to look into support but have not known where to start, this is a good first step.
Oakland Public Library, 125 14th St, Oakland. Monday, September 14, 10:00 to 11:30 am.
Family Paths
is a Community Based focus organization, which offers therapy for adults,
couples, and children; in addition, we offer services to adults, which
may not be the biological birth parent, but hold a caregiving role with a child. Family paths has been in the City of Oakland for 50 years and is offering their services as a referral resource. Learn more and chat with Family Paths in person.
About Family Paths: We provide therapy which is typically focused on building healthy ways to
manage the stress in a parent life and make good choices even when faced
with the
challenges that life brings their way. We help parents find ways to take
care of themselves, tap into their support network, and heal from past
traumas that might be impacting their relationships with family,
friends, or ability to work. We
can also work with individuals, and couples to develop better
communication skills, work on parenting challenges, and improve family
relationships.
Payment Options:
Sliding scale based on family income: Alameda Alliance Medi-Cal/Beacon (call for eligibility); approved Victims
of Crime funding, CalWORKs (with authorization)
