Meet Family Paths at Oakland Public Library
If you have questions about family support, parenting stress, therapy, or caregiving, this is a useful stop at the Main Library in downtown Oakland.
Family Paths will be at Oakland Public Library on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. The library setting makes sense for this kind of visit. It is public, calm, easy to enter, and familiar to a lot of Oakland families.
There are no listed stage performers for this event. The people to meet are Family Paths staff, who will be available to talk in person about therapy and referral resources for adults, couples, children, parents, and caregivers.
The group has been serving Oakland for decades, with support around parenting stress, communication, family relationships, trauma, and the daily pressure that can build up when people are caring for kids. They can also explain payment paths like sliding scale fees, Medi Cal through Alameda Alliance or Beacon, Victims of Crime funding, and CalWORKs with authorization.
This could be a good morning visit if you have been meaning to ask about help but did not want to start with a formal appointment. You can stop by, ask simple questions, and get a clearer sense of what might fit your family.
Where: Oakland Public Library, 125 14th St, Oakland
When: Monday, August 10, 2026, 10:00 am to 11:30 am

Family Paths
is a Community Based focus organization, which offers therapy for adults,
couples, and children; in addition, we offer services to adults, which
may not be the biological birth parent, but hold a caregiving role with a child. Family paths has been in the City of Oakland for 50 years and is offering their services as a referral resource. Learn more and chat with Family Paths in person.
About Family Paths: We provide therapy which is typically focused on building healthy ways to
manage the stress in a parent life and make good choices even when faced
with the
challenges that life brings their way. We help parents find ways to take
care of themselves, tap into their support network, and heal from past
traumas that might be impacting their relationships with family,
friends, or ability to work. We
can also work with individuals, and couples to develop better
communication skills, work on parenting challenges, and improve family
relationships.
Payment Options:
Sliding scale based on family income: Alameda Alliance Medi-Cal/Beacon (call for eligibility); approved Victims
of Crime funding, CalWORKs (with authorization)
