Chair Yoga
August 26, 2026 10:30 am
Chair Yoga at Oakland Public Library
Wednesday morning at the Main Library in downtown Oakland, the mood should be calm and easygoing. The library at 125 14th Street is a familiar civic space, with room to slow down for an hour before the day gets too busy.
This class is led by local instructor Bett Bollhoefer, who is certified in Radiant Body Yoga. The session is built for people who may have trouble getting down to the floor because of arthritis, knee issues, back pain, or other reasons.
Expect gentle movement from a chair, with time for strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness. There will also be meditation elements to help people settle in and set an intention before moving.
If you have been curious about yoga but want something steady and approachable, this is a good chance to try it in a public, welcoming setting. No studio scene needed. Just a chair, a quiet room, and an instructor guiding the pace.
When: Wednesday, August 26, 2026, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Oakland Public Library, 125 14th St, Oakland
