Jeanne Lorenz opens Are you with me NOW? at Manna Gallery on Saturday, August 22.
From 2 to 4 pm, the gallery hosts an artist reception at 473 25th St in Oakland. It is free and open to the public, so you can stop in, meet the artist, and spend a little time with the work without making a big production of it.
Manna Gallery has that calm Oakland gallery feel where you can actually look around, talk, and take your time. For this opening, Jeanne Lorenz will be there in person, which adds a nice layer to the afternoon. You get to hear a bit about the new work straight from the person who made it.
If you like local art days that are easygoing and close to the neighborhood, this is a good one to put on your calendar. The show runs from August 15 through September 19, with regular Saturday hours from noon to 5 pm and First Friday hours from 5 to 8 pm.
