Local Economy has the kind of easygoing room that fits a morning gathering. Warm, relaxed, and built for people to actually talk to each other. On Tuesday, August 18, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, novelist and critic Vanessa Hua will be there for a free storytime made with caregivers in mind.
Hua writes about family, caregiving, the natural world, and the strange turns life can take. Her upcoming nonfiction book, Uprooted, looks at how foraging helped her through a hard stretch of midlife. That mix of books, care, and real life should make for a thoughtful hour, especially for anyone moving through the day with a baby on one hip or a lot on their mind.
