Bedtime Club at Local Economy
Monday, August 31, from 7 to 9 pm, Local Economy in Oakland hosts a small evening for parents who did not carry their kids, but still carry plenty.
This is a quieter kind of East Bay gathering. The room is meant for non gestational parents of all kinds, including adoptive parents, queer parents, straight parents, trans and cis parents, men, women, and enbies. The focus is conversation, reflection, and the parts of parenting that can be hard to name out loud.
Local Economy has the feel of a grounded Oakland community space, the kind of place where a small group can actually hear each other. There is no stage act here. Shea Waldron leads the evening, guiding the room with care and leaving space for people to go a little deeper than usual.
If you have been looking for a place to talk about parenthood without the usual surface level script, this one may be worth your time. Come ready to listen, share if you want, and slow down for a couple of hours.
A gathering for non-gestational parents of all kinds—men, women, enbies, trans, cis, queer, straight, adoptive—to slow down together and sit with the stuff that doesn’t always get airtime. We didn’t carry the kids, but we’re carrying other things.
This is a small, intentional space. Come ready to go a little deep. Led by member Shea Waldron.
