Tito Puente Jr. and Nestor Torres at The Freight
Berkeley gets a bright hit of Latin rhythm on Tuesday, November 24, when Tito Puente Jr. and Nestor Torres come to The Freight for an 8 pm show.
The Freight is a good room for this kind of night. It has that close, listening room feel, with clear sound and a crowd that tends to lean in. You can catch the small details in the flute, the percussion, and the band without feeling far from the stage.
Tito Puente Jr. brings the family sound forward with timbales, swing, and the kind of dance pulse tied to his father’s long legacy. Nestor Torres adds a smooth, lively flute voice that moves through Latin jazz with warmth and ease.
If you like music with rhythm, melody, and real players working off each other, this is a solid Tuesday night plan in downtown Berkeley. The Freight sits at 2020 Addison Street, close to BART, food, and the usual arts district foot traffic.
Showtime is 8 pm. More details are available through the event page.
