Introduction to Color Theory
September 23, 2026 9:00 am
Color theory in a calm Alameda art space
If your paints keep getting muddy, or your color choices feel a little random, this workshop at Frank Bette Center for the Arts is a practical way to spend a couple of weekdays.
Instructor Cleo Villet leads a two day class on working with a limited palette, with a focus on how colors relate, mix, and shift next to each other. The goal is simple: understand color better so you can make clearer choices in your own work.
Frank Bette has that easy Alameda feel. It is a neighborhood arts center with gallery energy, friendly people, and enough quiet space to settle in and work. At 1601 Paru St, it feels more personal than a big classroom, which fits this kind of hands on study.
The workshop runs Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Cost is $275 for members and $325 for non members.
This is a good pick for painters, sketchbook people, and anyone who wants to stop guessing when they reach for color. Bring your curiosity, your patience, and maybe a snack for the long art day.
