Alameda gets a loud Saturday night at The Fireside Lounge
On Saturday, July 18, The Fireside Lounge on Webster Street is hosting a stacked local rock bill with The Dead Heat, Horizon Point, Fire Drill, and Ghost Town Hangmen. Doors open at 7 pm, the show is 21 and over, and cover is $10.
The Fireside has that easy Alameda feel. It is small enough that you are close to the bands, with a bar room energy that works well for guitars, drums, and a crowd that actually came to listen. No big production needed. Just a solid room, a drink in hand, and a few bands turning up for the night.
The lineup has a good range for anyone who likes punk, garage, and rough edged rock. The Dead Heat tops the night, with Horizon Point, Fire Drill, and Ghost Town Hangmen filling out the bill. It should be the kind of show where you can catch a full set, find a new band, and still be out at a reasonable hour.
If you are in Alameda, Oakland, or anywhere nearby in the East Bay, this is an easy one to make happen. Webster Street has food and bars close by, so you can make a whole evening out of it without overplanning.
