ROCK'N ROLL FLEA MARKET

Rock, records, and Bay views at Faction Brewing
Saturday, Oct. 24 brings a full day of crate digging, cold beer, food trucks, and live music to Faction Brewing in Alameda.
The brewery sits out on Monarch Street with that wide open Alameda Point feel, where you can catch the Bay air, grab a pint, and wander at your own pace. From 10 am to 6 pm, the space fills up with around 100 vendors selling records, vintage clothing, handmade jewelry, gifts, musical instruments, books, videos, tiki finds, Hawaiiana, and plenty of odd little treasures.
The music side leans loud and fun, with a Halloween rock show featuring Slacktone, Soraia, Balzac, The Greasy Gills, The Seismics, and The Ultra Sounds. Balzac brings a Prince Buster tribute set, which should add a nice ska kick to the day. DJ Sid Presley is also part of the mix, keeping things moving between sets.
This is a good one if you like browsing with a beer in hand, finding a record you forgot you wanted, or just hanging outside with friends while bands play nearby. It has that easy East Bay weekend feel, with enough going on that you can stay for an hour or make a day of it.
Admission is $5, and kids 12 and under get in free. Faction Brewing is at 2501 Monarch Street in Alameda. More details are at Planet Zoop.
