Metal memories by the water at Faction Brewing
Alameda gets a full day of heavy music history on Saturday, October 17, when Metal Relixx Expo takes over Faction Brewing from 11 am to 11 pm.
Faction is a good fit for this kind of hang. The brewery has that open Alameda Point feel, with big room energy, fresh air nearby, and plenty of space to wander with a beer in hand. It is casual, loud when it needs to be, and easy to settle into for a few hours.
The day brings vendors, live entertainment, meet and greets, a war stories panel, a metal museum, a kids zone, and an online auction. So yes, there is plenty for longtime collectors, but also enough going on for people who just want to look around, hear some stories, and see what turns up.
The live performers and panel guests are the draw if you like hearing the behind the scenes side of metal culture. Expect road tales, old photos, rare pieces, and the kind of conversations that usually happen at merch tables, rehearsal rooms, and after shows.
Bring a friend who still has old ticket stubs in a drawer. Bring the kids if they are curious. Or just come by for a pint and a slow lap through the memorabilia tables.
