Cape & Cowl Con returns to Faction Brewing on Sunday, August 30
Alameda gets a very comic book kind of Sunday when Cape & Cowl Comics brings its free show back to Faction Brewing from 11 am to 6 pm.
Faction is a good fit for this one. The brewery has that open waterfront feel, with Bay views, room to wander, and food trucks close by when you need a break from browsing tables. It is casual, busy, and easy to make an afternoon of it.
The main draw is the mix of people set up at the show. Expect more than 150 creators, comic shops, artists, makers, and local vendors. You can look through boxes, meet artists, pick up prints, talk comics, and probably spot a few costumes in the crowd.
This is also a solid family outing. Admission is free, the setting is relaxed, and there is enough going on for kids, collectors, and people who just like local art and people watching.
The crowd can get large, so give yourself time for parking and walking in. Faction Brewing is at 2501 Monarch St in Alameda.
