The Art of Being Present – Fall Intensive at the Breema Center
October 10, 2026 9:30 am
A quiet fall reset at the Breema Center in Rockridge
From Saturday, October 10 through Wednesday, October 14, the Breema Center on Claremont Avenue is hosting a five day intensive for people who want to slow down and practice being present in a real, physical way.
The setting fits the work. The Breema Center has a calm, simple feel, tucked into a familiar Rockridge stretch that is easy to reach but far enough from the rush to feel like a pause. Expect a room built for attention, comfort, and steady practice.
The program centers on Breema bodywork, Self Breema exercises, and the Nine Principles of Harmony. Jon Schreiber, director of the center and longtime author and teacher, will lead sessions along with experienced Breema instructors. Many of them also bring this work into health, education, and other care based fields, which gives the teaching a grounded feel.
This is a good fit if you have been craving less screen time, more body awareness, or a few days to reset your pace. The hours run 9:30 am to 5:00 pm each day, so it is a full commitment. But for folks drawn to quiet practice, touch based learning, and a supportive group setting, it could be a meaningful way to spend part of October in Oakland.
Location: The Breema Center, 6076 Claremont Ave, Oakland.
To be alive means to be in the present. In the present, you taste life within yourself. Breema bodywork, Self-Breema exercises, and the Nine Principles of Harmony are natural expressions of the unifying principle of Existence. They provide ideal support for practicing body-mind connection and the art of being present. Join us for this opportunity to immerse yourself in the nurturing nonjudgmental atmosphere of Breema. Jon Schreiber, Director of the Breema Center and author of many books about Breema, teaches during the Intensive along with a group of highly experienced Breema instructors, many of whom use Breema in their professions.
