Books, Bites & Scoops – A Day for our school
October 14, 2026 9:00 am
A Park Street day for books, food, ice cream, and school community
Alameda families have a good reason to spend time on Park Street on Wednesday, October 14. Books Inc. is hosting the evening gathering, with local stops at Tomatina and Tucker’s Ice Cream helping support The Child Unique and MEISA.
The day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Books Inc., with Tomatina joining in all day too. If you stop by Tomatina, remember to mention TCU or MEISA. Tucker’s Ice Cream is part of the fundraiser from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., which makes for an easy after school treat.
The main gathering at Books Inc. runs from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. If you know the Alameda shop, you know the feel. It is warm, casual, and neighborly, with shelves close enough to browse between conversations. It is the kind of place where a school night event can feel relaxed instead of formal.
The evening starts with a short student musical performance, followed by a talk and Q and A about Montessori elementary and middle school curriculum. The focus will be on Montessori and social justice, with educators and community members sharing space for real conversation.
SF CESS will also lead an interactive session using Personalization Cards. The idea is simple: sit together, listen, talk, and think about how people can show up for each other as a community.
This is a good stop for families connected to TCU or MEISA, local educators, and anyone curious about Montessori learning in Alameda. You can buy a book, grab dinner, get a scoop, and support a local school in one easy Park Street loop.

The goal is to create space for people to come to the table, listen to one another, and explore how we can come together as a community.
We are very excited to bring together families, educators, local businesses, and community members for what we hope will be a meaningful and inspiring evening.
