Hong Kong Style Mahjong Social at Alameda Brewing
Park Street gets a little more social on Saturday, August 8, when Alameda Brewing hosts an evening of Hong Kong style mahjong from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The setting fits the night well. Alameda Brewing has that easy neighborhood feel where you can grab a beer, settle in, and actually hear the people at your table. It is casual, friendly, and close to plenty of Alameda dinner spots if you want to make a full evening of it.
The Dragon Mahjong Club will be there helping guide the play, so new players do not have to feel lost. If you already know the tiles, bring your strategy. If you are brand new, this is a low pressure way to learn with people who enjoy teaching the game.
Expect a mix of conversation, table focus, and that nice little buzz that happens when a room full of people is learning and playing together. It is a good pick for anyone who wants a slower paced Saturday hangout with a bit of challenge built in.
