California State Parks Pass Promotes Stewardship, Free for Alameda Residents

Residents of Alameda, California now have access to free annual passes for the California State Park system. This pass provides a great way for families and individuals to enjoy the outdoors and support their local ecosystems. Passes are good at all state parks in California, providing a wonderful opportunity to explore the beautiful sites throughout the state.

The program is designed to encourage stewardship. It also breaks down barriers, as it eliminates the cost associated with admission. This frees up more resources so people can take part in activities that are beneficial to their physical and mental health. It also provides an educational opportunity to learn about historical landmarks, while being respectful of the region’s natural resources.

Passes, provided by California State Parks, cost $195 annually per family; however, free passes are available through your local library if you live in Alameda County.
