The annual event, “2024 Of The African Diaspora”, is returning to Alameda! This year’s theme is Island Resistance, showcasing the strength and resilience of the African Diaspora community. The event will take place at various satellite locations around the city, including Canyon Piedmont, Mills College, and Fruitvale at Northeastern University.
The exhibition features a range of artistic expressions from visual arts to theatre performances. There will be a special Fireside Reception on February 9th at The Fireside Lounge featuring live music, food, and drinks. The Closing Reception will take place on March 8th at Studio 23 Gallery in JINGLETOWN ART, where attendees can meet and mingle with the featured artists such as Yolanda Cotton Turner, Damon Powell, Stephen Bruce, Erica Jones & Chuck Harlins, Erika Stitt & George Bern, and Victor Mavedzenge.
The event is organized by AOTAD.org/events and supported by Alameda Island Brewing Co., AlamedaTheatres.com, and Alame Mills College.
